HIT-THROUGH

Many average golfers think too much about parts of the golf swing before hitting the ball. Too much emphasis on the takeaway, downswing and they forget to follow through. It’s like when they hit the ball they’ve hit a brick wall and stop! Hitting through on the line to the target past the point of impact will result in a better shot. Get the feel as if you are ‘shaking hands with the target’. Hitting through will give more consistent shots.

LINING UP THE CLUB FACE AND POSITIONING HANDS

Many golfers don’t pay enough attention to the face of the club. A large number of golfers do not start their swing with the clubface square. The bottom line of the clubface determines whether the club is square or not. It should be resting perpendicular to the intended line of flight. The hands must be positioned in front of the clubface. It sets up a strong left side and leads to a more natural cock of the wrists on the backswing and a more natural body turn. When getting your hands into the correct position extend the left arm comfortably.
