BODY POSTURE AT ADDRESS TO THE BALL
Good body posture and balance are necessary fundamentals to achieve a fluent golf swing.
The firmness of your grip should allow another person to slightly take hold of the clubhead and twist the grip of the club in your hands.
For your stance take a driver in your hands placing the distance of your feet at shoulder width. As the length of the club shortens the width of your feet slightly narrows by moving the right foot closer to the left. At all times remember balance is a key factor. Slightly bend your knees so that you lean from the hips, keeping your back fairly straight allowing yours arms to free-fall. Your knee flex and leaning from the hips will vary according to the length of the club being used. Your arms should hang perpendicular or slightly out-stretched. Your body physique will determine the most comfortable position for your arms.
The position of the top of the grip will vary between the centre of your body to your inside left thigh. At no time should there be any tension in your body especially in the shoulders, arms and hands. I certainly do not advise a stiff or very straight left arm.
Once positioned you are now ready to swing the club.
