A COMMON FAULT WHEN CHIPPING

I see many golfers around the greens try to flick the clubhead through the ball on chip shots. You must eliminate as much wrist action as possible. Fluffed shots are caused by flicking the

ball with the wrists. A fat chip, hitting the ground behind the ball, skulled shots racing across the green are caused by too much wrist action.

Set up with your weight more on the left leg and hands ahead of the ball at address and keep them there throughout the swing. If you keep the left wrist firm on the downstroke it helps to hit the ball towards the target. The feel you get is that the right hand is hitting against the left wrist.
