I enjoy playing a round of golf with club members as I observe their intensity and love of the game and how I can help them to improve. Playing with a golf professional is an opportunity to watch shots played perhaps different to how you would play them because of different club selection. It gives you also an opportunity to ask questions too. Certainly on the first few holes you will feel nervous and this is a natural reaction. All professionals remember what it was like to start playing golf and recall how much there was to learn.

Watch the professional and how he/she study each shot. They will check the wind direction, lie of the ball, distance markers and glance ahead to pick out a target line. Then, the pre-shot routine so important coupled with a focused concentration. Watch their club selection especially around the greens as the pro will not always use a wedge or sand iron. Note how they glance at length and direction of the grass growth and firmness of the ground.
